Rio has been adopted! 10-22-2011
We were sent Rio's picture on Friday and knew we needed to figure out a way to help him. It seems Rio was left with a collar on his neck that was far too small and the collar grew into his neck. The shelter removed the collar but he bears the wounds left behind. He has large gaping wounds from where the collar literally grew into his skin. We will get Rio the medical care that he needs but we need your help! We can not continue to save these critical medical cases without your help. Every dollar helps! Rio will be evaluated tomorrow by our surgical team and we will determine what the best option is. We are assuming that he will need surgical closure on at least one of the wounds. Can you help us today so Rio can have surgery tomorrow?
The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible when permitted by law. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
