Zuzu has been adopted! 04-15-2011

Female about 0 old.

We need to raise the funds for Zuzu's surgery as soon as possible. We happened upon this darling baby yesterday at a county animal shelter. She had been hit by a car and could not place any weight on her rear right leg. X-rays revealed a painful break where the femoral head was literally sheared off and the femur was displaced. Our vet confirmed that she would need orthopedic surgery to repair the broken and displaced femoral head.

Due to the pain caused by this type of fracture, she cannot wait to have surgery as there is no way to temporarily immobilize the hip. We desperately need to raise the funds quickly to relieve her pain! With the surgery, she will lead a normal, pain free life! We believe Zuzu is just 7-8 months old. She is darling, sweet and loving. She deserves to be able to run and play and not be in pain!

Can you help us fund this very important surgery?

Update 3/4/2011:

We have raised part of Zuzu's funds but need to raise more! She is resting on pain meds and is scheduled with the surgeon this morning. We are really hoping that we can all pull together today and get these funds raised! Even if it is just a few bucks--every little bit helps!

Update 3/4 2:30pm

Zuzu is out of surgery and her surgery was a success. She had an FHO procedure and her femur is back in place. She will be on crate rest for a bit and pain medicaton. We expect her to bounce back pretty quickly! Now, we just need to raise the rest of the funds for her surgery!
Update 4/06/11

Zuzu has finally finished her four week resting period and is so happy she gets to play with her siblings! She has a follow up appointment this week so we are hoping for the "all clear" from him!

The lucky family she gets to live with forever will be completely in love with her quickly. Already house broken, crate trained and nice manners, she is a super star in her foster home. She does not bark unless there is a need too. Chew toys, ropes? Must have them as she is a good girl and know they are what she chews on!

Zuzu is a girl that will excel in obedience training as she is always looking to her foster mom for the "I did good, didn't I" look which is as easy as a smile at her.

The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible when permitted by law. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
