Elton has been adopted! 03-26-2011
Elton made it out of a high kill shelter in the nick of time! This big goofy guy has a lot of energy and tells us he is ready to have a "do over" so he can live life to the fullest. Elton could use an obedience class - we will work with him to polish some of his skills but our guess is that his previous family didn't give him a lot of direction. He's smart and he'll pick things up quickly! Elton loves a good walk. He comes out of the kennel with energy to burn but he'll settle right down once he gets his bearings. He likes other dogs for the most part. He definitely doesn't know how big he is, which can be a bit endearing! Its taken him some time to come out of his shell but with the dedication of our volunteers, he's much more confident and self assured. Update 3/13/11
Elton is making great strides in his obedience & soaks up lessons like a sponge. He is a beautiful boy who also needs to bulk up a bit but once he does, he is going to be a show stopper! He works daily with a trainer and gets lots of exercise which he LOVES.
The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible when permitted by law. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
