Barney has been adopted! 03-25-2007

Barney is one of the biggest guys we've ever rescued! And when we say big, we mean BIG! He's probably well over 100 lbs and he's NOT FAT!!!! Barney probably isn't a purebred and we aren't sure what he is mixed with. What we do know is that he is a gentle giant. He languished in a shelter for a long time, passed over time and time again as most people were intimidated by his size.

Barney was turned in by his owners because they were moving to a smaller home - not sure why that mattered as he was never allowed in the house.

Barney is between 6 - 8 years old and in excellent health - he walks nicely on a leash and has been an absolute gentleman at every adoption event that he has attended. He rooms with Jane at our boarding facility - they just love each other!

The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible when permitted by law. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
