Chatzi has been adopted! 04-21-2013
A very pregnant Chatzi was dumped at a remote high kill shelter by her owner. Lucky for her, one of our volunteers happened to be at the shelter that day and not only witnessed this sad girl being left, but took a picture of her sitting loyally by the owner who would betray her. She appealed to us to make room for her. One look at the picture and we knew we couldn't say no. Chatzi whelped her puppies less than 24 hours after being pulled from the shelter. She has raised her puppies who are now weaned and is looking for a new family who won't desert her. She is a very sweet girl who just wants to be loved. She enjoys being petted and loved on. Chatzi is well behaved in the house. She has a nice quiet nature and is pretty easy going. She is housebroken and knows how to use a doggie door. Ms Chatzi needs help getting her girlish figure back. She really enjoys a good run and would be perfect for a family looking for a dog to take out for runs, walks or hikes. While she walks nicely on a leash, she can be a little strong, so needs some brushing up on her obedience lessons. She loves being with you and is very willing to please. She also loves treats and will "work" for food. She will be a great addition to a family looking for a loving and devoted companion for life.
The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible when permitted by law. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
