Coastal German Shepherd Rescue

Mau has been adopted! 08-09-2013

Male German Shepherd Dog /Belgian Shepherd Malinois mix about 1-2 years old. OK with cats. Gets along with other dogs.

Mau was terrified when he came to Coastal. His foster mom could barely get near him for 2 days but finally he realized that he was missing out on all the fun being had by the other dogs in the house.

Kind of a cross between a German Shepherd and a whippet, this boy can run! Once he relaxed enough to decide to be a dog, he has more fun than we dreamed possible. Mau has a bit of a comedian in him - he loves to sneak up on the couch and lay on his back.

Mau gets along with everyone, he's a pretty good watchdog and while it may take him a little bit to warm up to his new family, with just a few days of patience and a lot of treats, he will be a great addition. He is housebroken but can also be a bit of a counter surfer. We are pretty sure that this habit comes from living on the streets and scrounging for food.

Mau has even had a stint with a dog sitter and was in love within 5 minutes. Mau has a funny little underbite that gives him a bit of "devil may care" mischieveousness to his facial expressions.

Mau is under 2 and also walks well on a leash. Did we mention that he is great with other dogs?

The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible when permitted by law. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
