Penny has been adopted! 09-21-2013

Female German Shepherd Dog /Husky mix about 6-9 years old. Good with kids. OK with cats. Gets along with other dogs.

Are you looking for a medium sized, easy going buddy? Penny is a middle aged perfect girl. Housebroken, walks nicely on a leash, has zero issues with other dogs, we believe she is ok with cats and other small animals as she has zero prey drive. She LOVES her walks and is the first one to the door waiting for her leash

Penny lives in a foster home with other dogs...she doesn't have an interest in getting on furniture (ok sometimes she jumps on the bed to visit with her foster parents) but she loves the dog bed next to her foster mom's bed which is where she sleeps all night. We've never heard her bark.

Her favorite thing to do is to roll on her back on the grass and yowl and groan. She will play but is just as happy to sit next to you and watch the clouds go by.

Penny is probably around 5 years old - she was confiscated from a neglect situation but that hasn't affected her attitude. She is a loving, sweet girl and would fit into any home although we wouldn't identify her as a running partner, more a "let's take a stroll around Balboa Island" kind of girl.....

The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible when permitted by law. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
