Blackie has been adopted! 02-14-2014
Meet Blackie! Blackie is approximately 6 1/2 years young and full of life and love! Blackie had a rough start in life - This sweet angel was severely neglected and cruelly turned into an outside dog, not once being allowed inside the home. His ears both have old tears in them and he had many scabs on his body evidencing his neglect. It's clear this poor angel was starved for love and affection; however, you would never know it to meet him! Somehow he has kept his faith and trust in humans and has the sweetest disposition you could possibly ask for in a dog! He is a giant love-bug who just wants to please and be near his people. He is currently in a home with another large dog and has gotten along fantastically with his new foster sister. He has also been receptive and friendly to all people and dogs he has met whether at the house or along his walks. He is a very mellow and even-keeled boy who is quite easy to care for. He is fully housebroken and knows basic commands such as: sit and down, and is learning others in his foster home such as: come, stay, leave it, and others. He is a smart boy and he picks things up very quickly. Blackie will make wonderful addition to any family lucky enough to have him.
The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible when permitted by law. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
