Payton has been adopted! 03-05-2016
Come meet our friend Payton! This high energy fellow loves people and having a good time all around. Payton does just fine with dogs closer to his size. We have small dog tested him and he failed so no small animals for him in his new household. However, his roommate in boarding is a female shepherd and they get along just fine.
Payton hasn't had any training but he's eager to learn and surprisingly, walks extremely well on a leash for as little time as he has been on one. He will definitely need someone who wants to work on obedience and give Payton a job. Did we mention high energy? This guy would dive off the high dive if given a chance. He would be an awesome running and hiking partner - no sedentary life for this guy.
He has met all kinds of people at events - all ages, including kids, and he is extremely friendly and exuberant about new experiences.
If you've had shepherds before, don't overlook this classic black and tan model.
The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible when permitted by law. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
